Hotel Indigo Belgrade

A hidden gem of Belgrade and a characteristic imprint of history and tradition of the capital, Indigo hotel is one of the most significant projects of our company

Opened in October 2021, Indigo hotel is another successful project and cooperation of Delta Real Estate and IHG Group.

At an exclusive location, in the very centre of Belgrade’s pedestrian zone, between Knez Mihailova and Cika Ljubina Street, rests Indigo Hotel. The hotel is comprised of two reconstructed and adapted buildings dating back to the 19th and 20th century. With an overall investment of €20 million, Delta Real Estate has expanded its hotel offer by 46 rooms, one accessible room and one special suite.

Charm, pulse and local story of Dorcol

The main characteristic of Indigo brand is uniqueness, and hotels of this kind aim to depict culture and tradition of the place they are built in.  The interior of the hotel is artistically inspirational and brimming with details characteristic of the city in which it is located.

Charm, pulse and local story of Dorcol, one of the oldest parts of Belgrade, are felt in its every segment.

Tradition woven into modern interior

Visitor elevators are decorated with letters inspired by the famous font of Miroslav Gospel, and the seemingly randomly written letters hide the lines of Milos Crnjanski’s famous poem “Lament over Belgrade”.

In addition to this, ensconced in the atrium between the two buildings lies Duke restaurant, a place where you can taste the best traditional specialities of the Serbian cuisine.

Interior inspired by history

Our team made sure to design a portion of the rooms in the style of Yugoslavian Brutalism, with contemporary interpretation of furniture and typical “public institution” chairs, terrazzo pattern in bathrooms, while the other part of the hotel’s offer is decorated in art-deco style characterised by high ceilings, specific wallpapers and elegant bathrooms.

A challenging reconstruction but a perfect result

The reconstruction of the two buildings, both of which are more than a hundred years old, posed a special challenge for the entire team of our company. It was necessary to replace the entire structure and structural system, and due to their bad condition and old age all walls required rebuilding, with the exception of street facade walls that were completely rehabilitated. More than 50 tonnes of steel were used just for the temporary supporting structures.  Concrete was often mixed on spot on the construction site, and since there wasn’t enough space, internal transport was arranged entirely without cranes.
