In April 2021, the first Delta Planet in Serbia was opened with pride. Situated only a 5 minute drive from the city center, the shopping mall is excellently connected with local roads and main city areas. With a €70 million investment, Nis became a place of contemporary shopping experience that offers its visitors a wide range of domestic and global brands, restaurants, cafes, game rooms for children and numerous other contents. Shortly after its opening, Delta Planet Nis became the favorite shopping and socializing destination.
The inspiration for the authentic facade design was found in the synergy of elements of the traditional Serbian kilim from Southern Serbia and the tangram as a feature of Delta Holding’s logo. Attractive architecture, the most contemporary technical-technological solutions and caring for environment made Delta Planet one of the urban symbols of Nis.
The structure of the facility is the reinforced concrete frame type with wall stiffeners. Between the ground floor and the floor there is a mezzanine structure made of prestressed reinforced concrete slabs and beams. A great challenge during the construction phase was the main entrance area, where the mezzanine structure is practically suspended from the roof structure consisting of the main and auxiliary supports, thus achieving a 12 meter overhang, which is a real rarity in the region.
Delta Planet is the largest shopping mall in Nis and the southern part of Serbia, and the whole construction process, from design to realisation, was done in-house within Delta Real Estate company. The whole project was monitored with a range of the most contemporary technical-technological solutions, among which was the system of heat pumps.
